What is CBD Oil?

Among the more than 100 cannabinoids scientists are now aware of, the nonpsychoactive compound cannabidiol (CBD)is one of the most abundant. Derived from the seeds, stalks, and flowers of plants like hemp, cannabidiol, most commonly known as CBD, has demonstrated in thousands of studies to potentially possess therapeutic properties that can balance the body and potentially assist in the treatment of an array of symptoms and conditions. Unlike the well-known cannabinoid tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD is completely non-psychaoctive. This means that consuming or absorbing CBD won’t ever cause a high or temporarily inhibit cognitive functions. In fact, CBD actually counteracts the psychoactivity of THC. This makes CBD an appealing treatment option for those looking to incorporate the healing effects of cannabinoids without having to experience the fuzziness of a high.

While researchers are still discovering more exciting effects of CBD, so far studies indicate that CBD could potentially be beneficial for treating inflammation, pain, anxiety, seizures, spasms, nausea, and other symptoms. CBD has also shown to have antioxidant and potentially neuroprotective properties. Because of these therapeutic effects, scientists have found evidence that indicates CBD is a potential treatment for a wide array of conditions. This includes arthritis, chronic pain, multiple sclerosis, schizophrenia, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and even cancer. Once extracted from hemp, CBD oil can be ingested orally or infused into other products like liquids, capsules and tinctures. As long as CBD is derived from hemp, it is legal to import, purchase and use under federal law. Individual state laws are dynamic and some have passed their own laws regulating hemp-derived CBD, but as a general rule, hemp derived CBD is more often than not accessible. Because CBD is non-psychoactive, non toxic, and non addictive, there’s no reason for it to be regulated as a controlled substance.

Who is Kannaway?

Kannaway® was the first direct marketing company to offer cannabis products to consumers. A family oriented company, Kannaway® encourages its brand ambassadors to create their own successful distribution businesses that will positively impact the health of the people around them. A lifestyle brand, Kannaway® maintains a focus on nutrition and healthy choices with their all natural ingredients, CBD hemp oil, and proprietary herbal blends combined into each product. Kannaway® was awarded Start-up of the Year in 2014 from the Academy of Multilevel Marketing for their swift growth and supportive company structure. Kannaway® has a worldwide following and a team of experienced, passionate brand ambassadors representing their products. Kannaway built this following by offering some of the highest quality CBD hemp oil products, from nutritional supplements to vapes to beauty products through its network of brand ambassadors.

Kannaway’s Hemp Oil is derived from legal non-GMO European industrial hemp, utilizing our proprietary extraction methods to extract the hemp oil from the mature stalk. The key to our proprietary extraction method is to achieve an “essential plant complex”, which is rich in cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, waxes and chlorophyll that are essential to the human body. To ensure our products will meet the highest quality standards, each batch of hemp oil undergoes our Triple Lab Testing™, which includes 3 separate tests of your product between harvest and final packaging for sale.

QUALITY & SAFETY

As trailblazers in the CBD hemp oil space, we’re playing a major role in creating the booming market for CBD hemp oil products. Along the way, we also set the example and precedents for CBD hemp oil quality and safety. Our parent company, Medical Marijuana, Inc. is an innovator of many of the techniques, technologies, and even quality control measures used every day to bring you only the best CBD supplements. Starting from day one, we’re committed to delivering high quality hemp oil products to our ever-expanding customer base.

CO2 EXTRACTION

CO2 extraction is a process that requires skill to perform correctly. It’s a more costly process than others, but it’s the safest method there is and it produces the highest quality products. It’s an environmentally safe element, and it’s recyclable. CO2 extraction processes don’t contribute to carbon emission increases in the atmosphere, and this process doesn’t bring any flammable petroleum based solvents (like butane) into contact with your product. Extraction using supercritical CO2 is the state-of the- art way to utilize this inexpensive and safe industrial solvent for creating high quality hemp oil.

TRIPLE LAB TESTING

Our hemp is first tested by our cultivators in Europe periodically throughout the growing season and again after harvest and extraction. This allows our growers to maintain optimal cannabinoid content for our hemp oil supplements and check for any residual contaminants. Despite cultivating our hemp free of herbicides, pesticides, and chemical fertilizers, we carefully inspect our oil after harvest for anything that can negatively impact the quality of our products. Second, the oil is tested when it arrives in the US after being shipped from Europe. Once our hemp oil is imported into the U.S., it is tested once again by ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited testing labs to check for consistent ratios of CBD and to verify the safety of our oil after its journey across the Atlantic. These labs test our hemp oil for the concentration of cannabinoids, including CBD, CBDa, CBG, THC, and over a half dozen others, as well as testing for mold, mildew, fungus, yeast, E.coli, Salmonella, Mycotoxins, heavy metals, and residual solvents to protect the end user from any contamination. Finally, after our hemp oil is sent to our California-based formulators, who are certified as using Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for foods and supplements, ensuring consistently produced and quality controlled final products. Here our hemp oil is crafted into our wide range of CBD hemp oil supplements – after which we batch test our finished products to once again verify that they will be safe and consistent for all our customers. Samples from each batch of the final products are tested again for cannabinoid content and a final safety check.

EXCLUSIVE LICENSE

Kannalife Sciences, our sister company, currently holds an exclusive license with National Institutes of Health – Office of Technology Transfer (“NIH-OTT”) for the Commercialization of U.S. Patent #6630507, “Cannabinoids as Antioxidants and Neuroprotectants.” Kannalife is currently conducting research and development at the Bucks County Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center in Doylestown, PA, for a target drug candidate to treat HE and CTE. HE and CTE are oxidative stress-related diseases that affect the cognitive and behavioral functions, and the wellness of the brain.

LEGALITY

Cannabidiol (CBD) oil is legal under United States federal law, regardless of a prescription. With the varying and sometimes contradictory cannabinoid-related laws, it’s not uncommon to be confused on CBD’s legality status. But, CBD is legal to purchase and consume under federal law, provided that it is extracted from hemp. Hemp is a non-psychoactive variety of Cannabis sativa L. that contains less than 0.3% THC. In the United States, CBD itself is not specifically listed in the United States Controlled Substances Act like the psychoactive compound, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). The US government, which specifies which parts of cannabis plants are prohibited, excludes hemp’s “mature stalks” and “oil or cake made from the seeds” and “sterilized seeds” from its definition of “marihuana.” This means that CBD oil products that are derived from these “not marijuana” parts of imported hemp plants are not federally banned, and the natural cannabinoids in hemp-derived products are exempt from DEA enforcement. While hemp cannot be legally cultivated in the U.S. except under state-regulated programs, hempderived oil has been a legal import in the U.S. for decades. As such, our hemp is legally imported from Europe.
